About Farmed Beauty

My name is Emelda (Em for short), a Medical Doctor by background and I am the owner and founder of Farmed Beauty.

I started this journey following my personal struggles with store bought skin and hair care products that could not meet my skin and hair needs sufficiently when I moved to the UK. Most of my friends also struggled with dry, lack lustre skin and the group chat most common questions were centred around skin care especially moisturisers that catered for our skin type. That was when it hit me, there was actually nothing out there created specifically to suit us, we were all just an after thought; just like in science, statistics and life-saving interventions, 

Being a solution-oriented person, I started experimenting and making my own simple body butter at home and shared freely to my friends and family. They loved it so much and they kept nudging me to consider selling the body butter because it was just so nourishing and deeply moisturising, yet all natural with no nasties. I was reluctant because I already hold a busy job as a Medical Doctor in the NHS, and this was pretty much a DIY project with no huge thought or plan for it.

After careful thoughts and with so much fear & doubt, I decided to take the plunge in late 2023, and I sold my first body butter under the name BodyButterByEm.

The support I received from my circle of friends and family, led me to diversify into making other products like the Moringa Hair Butter, Ayurvedic Hair Oil, and I initally used the logo 'Em's' for my products, and seeing that this was quickly becoming a real business, I re-strategised and Farmed Beauty was born.

Farmed Beauty means beauty at its most original state, unadulterated, clean, authentic, and slow farmed from nature. In the world of fast moving fashion, one thing gets left behind, and that is ‘quality’. At Farmed Beauty, the focus is on quality, nature at its finest, and delivered in a formula that the body accepts wholly.
